Overview
What Is It?
CRP Gen is a software program that you download and install on your
Windows-based PC. Once installed,
you follow 4 easy steps to generate completed CRPs that you can review, print
and distribute to
your tenants.
CRP Gen will even perform most calculations for you!
How Does It Work?
Once installed, start CRP Gen, then follow the on-screen
instructions to:
- Enter
your managing agent information (name, address, phone number, …)
- Enter
any property information that is common to all units (property type,
address, county, property ID or parcel number, …)
- Enter
renter information (name, unit, rental dates, rent paid, …; see below for
data entry options)
- Generate,
review and print the forms
What Are My Data Entry Options?
Depending on the number of units that you manage, your
tenant list may range from a couple of renters to several hundred.
So how do you get this information entered on the forms?
CRP Gen was designed to be flexible, providing data entry
options for large and small property managers.
If you only need to prepare a couple of CRPs, you can enter the renter
information directly on the electronic form, then print it out.
For larger numbers of renters, CRP Gen can import the renter information
from a specially-formatted spreadsheet or text file.
Help With “Rent Paid” Calculations
CRP Gen can help simplify complex rent calculations.
Every year, you may find yourself asking “How much did a particular
tenant pay in rent?” Some of the variables that you need to take into account
include the rental period (in days, months, or partial months), monthly rental rate,
number of roommates, and/or whether the rental unit falls under special
Minnesota Department of Revenue guidelines for nursing homes and adult foster
care.
CRP Gen can take all of this information into account and generate the “Rent
Paid” number for you. Or, you can
compute and provide your own number.
And, to help reduce potential questions from your tenants,
a short explanation is printed on each CRP that indicates how the “Rent Paid” number
was calculated.
