Smartrak Group Wins One for Minnesota Taxpayers
M1PR e-Filers get their refunds quicker*
In 2005, a new law took effect that gives the Minnesota Department of Revenue the authority to issue property tax refunds 30 days sooner to taxpayers who electronically file their M1PR return. Minnesota-based Smartrak Group, the maker of eFile Express™, was the ONLY company to work with the Minnesota Legislature and the Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) to get this new law passed.
The law is a perfect example of common sense, win-win legislation: it allows taxpayers to get their refunds quicker while allowing the state to reduce both printing and processing costs.
Smartrak Group is proud of the part that we played in getting this sensible law passed for Minnesota taxpayers. It's just another example of how Minnesota-based companies can work to benefit all Minnesotans.
* To qualify, taxpayers must electronically file their M1PR return and meet other requirements (e.g. have the refund directly deposited into your bank account, filed a M1PR return during the previous year, etc.) as outlined by the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
